Almost Lucid Geezer
The siren call of vanity has won.
Vanity battled modesty – in my mind. Predictably, vanity won. We call this battling of desires, “choice or free will.” But is it really anything more than two desires fighting it out, with a result that seems inevitable? Who knows. Regardless, vanity’s victory resulted in this page. I like to think that out of 360° of “choices,” perhaps Providence has reserved a few degrees of freedom to me. One can hope.
Things that interest me
- Hand tool woodworking (no ’lectricity allowed)
- Politics. Scattered, non-academic, lay-level politics.
- War. It’s awful stuff. But can humans actually avoid it?
- Religion, which I do not practice, but which shaped me.
- Construction. Limited aspects, but an abiding interest.
- Local wildlife. Sparrows, bluebirds, bobcats, squirrels, lizards, and coyotes.
